STORY

When I worked at LifeLock my main job was to design products. One time my senior director was wanting to make a report to high-level VPs that can potentially transform the team organizations in the future. My job is mainly designing the product, but I realized how important this report can be to our overall team and also the future of our direction. So I took ownership to help my senior director create and design a deck that can demonstrate the key points and visualizes the insight.  I could have not cared about something that’s not my responsibility, but I care about our teams and the future of the company so I decided to step in at the right time. As a result, the presentation was well received and helped the high-level VPs make better decisions on team transformation. The senior director also appreciated my efforts in helping him because it helped him leave a good impression in front of the management team which in turn granted us more budget in team expansion.
