CYBER SECURITY PLATFORM

The Cyber Safety Platform by Symantec is a new effort that combines Norton and LifeLock cyber security services and products. Our mission is to create a great user experience that helps detect threats to our customer’ digital life. The service includes ID Theft Protection, Credit Score & Reports, Secure VPN, Cloud Backup, Password Management, and Parental Controls.  

As a lead designer, I owned, designed, and shipped the entire experience for:

Proud to be the original proposer and creator of UX & UI for this project, - I am leading the LifeLock Member Portal and Norton migration CSP (Cyber Security Platform) products. I help my team to build a better and more seamless communication experience across the LifeLock and Norton products. As the lead designer, I owned, designed, and shaped the entire experience:

Lead management / Collaborate with Norton’s design team / Design guidelines / Interaction patterns / Symbol library / Desktop and responsive view / LifeLock legacy login / The entire legacy LifeLock and Norton LifeLock user experience / Performance tracking / Different states of our product (error state / happy path) / Data tracking

For the new CSP, I had the opportunity to collaborate with different product teams and learn how to align with the Norton UI/UX brand. The challenge was create a design that seamlessly mirrored the existing Norton UI, but that kept with the unique function of LifeLock. I created the new design guidelines to help the development team navigate through the features, including interactions, user flow, and visuals.

Overview: From Legacy LifeLock to CSP

My experience creating the design for the CSP was a ground up effort. It was a rushed project that needed to be completed in a three-month period, which included simultaneous projects and features that needed to be implemented. Through this experience, I found that I work extremely well under pressure, I can balance multiple projects, make final design decisions, and meet strict deadlines to deliver an exceptional user product. As owner and designer, I received positive feedback from the data team.

Through my experience, I revealed another side of me. I found that I can attack any design project that comes my way with intense passion and responsibility. I also want to thank all the people who supported me throughout this endeavor.

Research and collaboration

We love research, research has been always playing the key part in our design process since day 1. And we love collaboration, I worked very closely with researchers, PMs, developers, content strategists and other cross functional teams to understand our user journey, validate design concepts and ship amazing experience.
